Hello All. In the main section of the Mood Disorders Society of Cda (this website) you can find the latest Quick Fact Report on Mental Illness and Addiction in Cda. It is a very comprehensive report and about 98% accurate(amazing for a government document)
From time to time some of you may have noticed that I have quoted from older versions of this same report.
I will warn you that there are some stats that are confusing(partly because of the sheer volume of categories), examples they say that 8% of people have major depression, but a much higher number who have depression, or 1 out of 20 people have a gambling problem and in another place 1 out 50 have a gambling addiction, to me they are splitting hairs and sometimes it makes it confusing.
But overall it is a complete and very comprehensive report. It is certainally worth the read. The long version is best, but not everyone has the time to read it. Take Care. paul m
