Hello Everyone. Normally I would delete someone for trying to fund raise on here, but in this case this is an officially sanctioned MDSC event. (The MDSC provides the funding and the means to have this forum).
The MDSC runs various fund raisers every yr and they use this money pretty wisely. One of the campaigns that they run is called Defeat Depression and the long and short of it is the MDSC and a local charity combine to raise funds and split the proceeds.
The Defeat Depression Campaign is in over a 100 locals now and not only helps local charities raise funds for good works, it also helps to raise awareness of the problems that people with depression face and helps to stop stigma. This yrs campaign is almost over. However you can still donate either directly at http://www.defeatdepression.ca/ or it just so happens that Telecare , a 24/7 distress line that is located in Orillia Ont is taking part with the MDSC in their campaign right now.
I happen to volunteer at both places (the distress line and the MDSC) so last yr I got the distress line to join the Defeat Depression Campaign. Anyone wishing to sponsor me can go to https://mdsc.akaraisin.com/pledge/Pa...=2998972&sgid= . As I said the money goes to good causes. The distress line has no employees and the MDSC operates on a minuscule budget, both have do great work. Take Care. paul m
