Being diagnosed as Bipolar was hard enough. When I told my parents, they refused to acknowledge it, and still refuse to this day. If you try to talk to them about it, they ignore you and change the topic of conversation. I am wondering if this happens a lot with other people too, or just me.

Not ignore, but different. So I have depression and anxiety. I find that family and friends always want to "fix it". This puts a lot of pressure on me. If I am sad, and just need to be sad, they want to be around me and try to make it better so I always feel I either have to avoid them or pretend I am better so they don't feel bad or get frustrated. It's hard for other people to accept that I don't need them to fix me. I just need them to understand.
