Lights out at 10 may help teens' mental health

The CBC has an article about the correlations between how much sleep a teen gets and how prevalent depression and thought s of suicide. You can read more about it here

Hello Woody. Good article. A few school boards should read it, especially the one in our area. When my kids were starting high school they decided that school should start at 7.50am rather than 9am. Still that way today. I cannot imagine facing grade 10 math class at 7.50am .

I always figured I would have done better in school if it had started about 10am. I was always a night person. Take Care. paul m

Whatever time it was, it was too early!

I had a 22:22 sleep time hour (no kidding).

But I don't think you can prevent depression and all by setting a sleep time. I mean if the kids an insomniac, he won't sleep. If he's anxious, he won't either. And if the parents are yelling until 12:00, he won't either.

It's not the children that should be fixed.

            It's the parents.
