Angels Online

[uni]

Here, with a few adjustments, is a poem I came across. It says what I'd like to say, only better.

"Angels Online"

There's a land that I go to when I need to share
It's not on a map but exists everywhere

Full of names without faces, a curious place
A modern creation that's called cyberspace

There are all sorts of people with cute little names
Like Pookie and Sandman and Rosebud and Flames

We cannot be heard and we cannot be seen
And yet we communicate there on the screen

Sometimes we laugh and sometimes we flirt
Sometimes we hug and sometimes we hurt

Tell our deepest regrets and our most troubling fears
The scars of our life which can bring us to tears

We share with these strangers those things we conceal
That to even our friends we would never reveal

What gives them the power to reach into me
And show me the truths that I so need to see?

How do they manage to open my eyes
And have me confess the deceit and the lies?

I don't understand such a magical spell
But I know that without it my life might be hell

When I need direction I know I can find
An angel from heaven just waiting online
