    Thanksgiving

Some days it's hard to find much to be thankful for, especially if you feel depressed (which I currently am not, for which I'm super thankful!) In any case, I try to find at least one thing, however small. to be thankful for every day and mark it on my calendar. This way, I celebrate Thanksgiving every day, in a way. It's still nice to have a special day for it though, so to everyone on the forum who celebrates it this weekend, Happy Thanksgiving!

I know it's over a week later but I enjoyed this. I'm pretty sure I read some kind of study that said coming up with 3 things each day that you're grateful for can measurably improve your mood over time. That's even easier than meditating.

    Today I'm feeling grateful for:
    - Canada's health care - yeah we have to wait sometimes but it's wonderful to get medical care and not be stuck with huge bills.
    - My own fairly good health. I have some ongoing issues but nothing major. I recently lost a chunk of weight getting me out of the "obese" BMI range and that feels great.
    - My friends, both IRL and online.

Thanks for your reply, Hazelcat! Congratulations on your weight loss, it sounds worth the effort you've put in!

I too am grateful for the health care we have, things could be so much worse, and more expensive. I spent this afternoon taking a family member to medical appointments thanks to a fall and a fender bender they had. Thankfully no life threatening injuries, but a reminder of how we sometimes need health care unexpectedly.

And like you, I'm grateful for my IRL and online friends too
