Hello AnneT and welcome. I have no problem starting and stopping wellbutrin quickly. AJ is right you should always ask your doctor or pharmacist about it.
I don't know anybody that had serious problems coming off of wellbutrin, but I know several dozen people that had problems with effexor. The classes of antidepressants SSRI's and SNRIs are the ones best known for causing selective serotonin discontinuation syndrome(what a lot of people get when they try to stop effexor as it is an SNRI). Wellbutrin comes from a differnet class of drugs and acts on the brain differnetly than SNRI's. Take Care. paul m
