I was wondering if my grandmother, being that she has been diagnosed with Manic Depressive Disorder (Bipolar with episodes of both mania and depression) as well as severe depression, and anxiety. Me, being her grandson from my fathers side, am I now genetically predisposed to having these conditions or is there no correlation between a gap in the generation (given my father does not have any diagnosed mental health condition).

Hello Fearless and welcome. You are right there is a genetic disposition when it comes to bipolar. However not everyone will get it. I have 5 siblings and none of them have bipolar, just myself. I have two sons and only one has bipolar. Take Care. paul m"Alone we can do so little;
