I was diagnosed with bipolar and I am gaining weight with this drug . Is it the drug or my hormones ? Any advice on this drug ?

Unfortunately weight gain can occur with Epival. It can be a frustrating unwanted effect of some medication, common with certain classes of medication. Exercise, meal portions, and healthy snack choices sounds simplified I know but there is no easy way to deal with drug related weight gain. I can't keep a candy dish or chocolate anywhere within reach in the evening. Watching TV and eating are not a good combination when I'm not paying attention to what and how much snacking I do.

I would encourage you to talk to your doctor about your concerns. For some a consult with a dietician can be helpful. An exercise buddy can help motivate us to stay active. I have a dog sitting in front of me starring at me in the AM at walk time.
