Can you replace Seroquel IR for XR for flight?

I take 150mg XR Seroquel at night and because I have a late 6 hour flight to another country I want to be clear headed for customs so is there a way to take like a dose of 75mg IR as it wears off faster?

Also does anyone know how much is released immediately after taking XR?

Hi Surfgod998 and welcome to the forum. The answer to your question depends on many factors, both with the drug and your medical history. Quetiapine (Seroquel) also has an active metabolite, which is a chemical produced when the body breaks down the Seroquel. The metabolite also has psychoactive properties. This does need to be factored in.

I don't know what time you take your dose at night or what time the flight is. It might be better to take a lower XR dose then the IR form. Depending on your flight time, and how groggy you usually are in the AM, taking your dose earlier can make a difference too.
