MAOI patch

Hello DaffyDuck and welcome. I haven't had any experience with that patch either. I can tell you that it is a MAOI-B (Monoamine oxidase inhibitors) rather than the more common MAOI antidepressants,which are MAOI-A .

EMSAM is not a new medication, it is just a new way of delivering it. The base medication is selegiline and is a very old medication long used for depression and parkinson. The cost of the patch used to be huge(4-500 mth), so you may want to ck with whoever is paying for the medication to see if it covered.

I take a close cousin MAOI-B called Azlict for parkinson and it does nothing for my depression. But that is me, for another person it may work very well. If you decide to try it, please let us know how it worked out. Thx and Take Care. paul m
