    officially relapsed

needless to say I guess with everything in all aspects of my life with Osteoarthritis in a few places, one being the knee. yup it dislocated and am too young lol middle age upper well gov't won't touch me have be closer to 70 for any replacements yes the irony. I sllipped and my pdoc is super good and she caught it obviously I fudged on the scale of the various severity of how I felt but yup i'm officially in replase I'd like to see someone without mental health issues dealing with my life since early 2014 and not replapse. It's all the situations outside of my control so no matter my 'tool box', cocktail (and the list of potential drugs she wants to add on, I don't need those extra physical side effects as I already have most). just tired+

Hello Purgatory. I'm sorry that you have relapsed too. In regards to your knee, you may have thought of this already or be using one, but have you tried a brace. My wife is on her feet all day at her job and she has found that a brace makes a heck of a difference. (she too could use a new knee). It's not prefect, but it does help. The other thing that helps her is Glucosamine. There is no medical evidence that the stuff works, but my wife and several others claims it helps. Take Care. paul m

thanks yes I enquired about that but then more results came in I have OA both knees L5 in lumbar and the disk are degenerating more, OA in left hip and both big toe joints. Basically caused by scoliosis after 49 years of misalignment and medicine is only getting better regarding that but in the very young as their bones are more flexible and stronger. I'm dreading the appointment regarding my kidneys tomorrow (yup another rare congenital) if only that kind of luck worked with lotto tickets. I'm between too young and too old and with severe psychiatric illnesses and alone with no material backup (broke the rule and trusted my father to hold my paid off house until I was finished with family law). Permanently estranged from family I was the 'punching bag' for their emotional and bully blowing off steam. doing the limited exercises I can, not hard to keep off weight since I'm going to be dipping into rsp before I can get any assistance. Unfortunately that will mean generic meds which in the past didn't work in helping the black dog away. It's interesting that I'm not well enough for work to want me (insurance risk in falling and 'operational requirement') but not sick enough for gov't assistance which docs charge an arm and a leg for. Of course disability tends to reject the first go around when they finally get to that file. People don't realize that we are not that much of a socialist country after all. . I was actually reading up on the disability tax credit but by that criteria I wouldn't even be earning money since I would have to have someone helping me dress and such so why would I need a credit if there is no income earned. oh just had Alanis Morrissette song pop in my head 'isn't it ironic'. I'm trying to find even just a room to let so it's cheaper to get to my doctors but close to a grand and they are small and questionable occupants including the bugs. Soon I will be without even a pc so the find of free wi fi at malls won't be very useful long. ah well seems to be. But in case the laptop dies sooner than later I do want to thank you and so many others pretty well since these boards started (I think about 15 years or more it was on some other type of platform. This place is really important to a lot of people. You and the others do a great job. cheers

purgatory I just wanted to chime in with the one aspect of what you were talking about that I do happen to know a good deal about and that is joint replacements. I'm not sure what part of the country you are in but most of the better hospitals and ortho departments WILL do joint replacements on younger people now, certainly well before the 70's. I am 45 and had my right knee done a couple of years ago. Granted my case was somewhat unique (I won't get into that right now) but suffice to say that if you tell them it's a quality of life issue and you'd rather have the potential use of the knee/hip now and deal with the stiff/sore joint in your 70's (again potentially) then it's worth doing. I can't say enough about the job they did on my knee in what was a very complicated case with excessive bleeding risk and weak and small bones. My knee is virtually painless now and I am far more mobile and active than I was before. If you wish to discuss it further, I would be happy to help you in any way I can but I do know for a fact that it is possible to have joint replacement at pretty much any age. BTW my surgery was in London at the University hospital. I'll give you the doctor's name if you p.m; me. Thanks and best of luck with everything.
