Ladies, are symptoms worse during PMS?

I find the week of PMS to be awful! Just when I think things are getting slightly better, PMS week comes along and I begin to feel exhausted, jittery, nervous and can’t sleep. Am I the only one?

Hello TryingToHeal. The MDAO has a info sheet on this https://mooddisorders.ca/faq/premens...-disorder-pmdd It describes the problems and offers some solutions. How affective they are I wouldn't know. Take Care. paul m

Hi TryingToHeal. There are so many things, including our mood, that hormone fluctuations affect. In fact for many years, disease and drug information studies were entirely based on the male speciman of us humans. The excuse was that the females have too many uncontrollable variables with our ever changing hormone levels (never mind the 'of child bearing age exclusions' ). Thankfully that has changed, although it is a work in progress.

It has been awhile since I've had to deal with the dreaded wild monthly fluctuations in hormones and the cascade of challenges it brings. I haven't forgotten how difficult it was. A hot water bottle, a cup of herbal tea, and my loyal companion, my dog Shindy, were my best friends on the worst of those days.

Pretty late to respond - I only pop onto this site from time to time, but absolutely yes, PMS and depression were a nightmare for me. From my pregnancy in 1988 to my complete hysterectomy in 1995, I was a complete mess half of every month. I mean bordering on hysterical at times. I honestly can't believe I finished a degree and started my career through all of that. There was very little research on the connection between estrogen and serotonin hormones. Decades later, it's improved a little. Talk to your doctor and reach out to various clinics in your area to see if there's a specialist who helps with premenstrual disorder (PMD). And try to eat a good diet. I know it's difficult but as much as possible, try to eat healthy carbs like steel cut oats, brown rice and whole wheat breads, along with veggies and protein. A lower carb diet can help a bit. Good luck.

I do not think you are the only one. Doesnt all women experience PMS. Just remain focused on your life goals and know illness and bad things come, just keep jogging on.

This is a really good book... actually she has a couple... you can also find a podcast with her on the *** with Emily channel.... def worth a listen/ read

the raise and fall of our emotions during our different cycles is actually not 100% normal... we shouldn't be all over the place when this time comes....

Maybe someone will get something out of this ... Hope it helps..

Recently my friend told an anecdote about a vagina, and I found it very funny. He bought an artificial electronic vagina. You have no idea that dropping a processor can be so enjoyable... lol it is hilarious. But I can tell you girls need to take their women's health more seriously. A friend of mine recently posted https://endometriosis-symptoms.com where I read about many of the symptoms of women's diseases and immediately made an appointment with a gynecologist to get checked out. In general, I recommend that every woman visit a gynecologist at least once a year, so that there are fewer funny jokes about the vagina.
