I've found it effective over the years. Where people often find it doesn't work is in committing to the time required each morning, and not giving it a long enough trial run. Unlike a pill, which is easy to pop!
I've been completely thrown off my routine the last week or so. The stand I use for my SAD light got broken, and I haven't rigged up anything else yet. I don't want to go shopping with the virus lurking who knows where. and all. Maybe I'll have to sit somewhere different, I don't know. I'll figure something out. My mood is ok and the days are getting longer, but I'm spending a lot of time indoors ."social distancing"
Hello. I am new here but i hope to be of help to others and also benefit from the interactions too. What is the title of the book you used to prop up your light?
Your avatar, and your question, lead me to think you like books. The one that's propping my light up is a novel by Billie Livingston called "The Crooked Heart of Mercy". It's about "broken people trying to be whole". I bought it at a second hand sale and haven't read it yet.
It is great to help each other, and the interactions always brighten my day... I look forward to reading more of your posts
