    My dog had complications from her surgery and we thought we might lose her. One very good thing is that the treatment has helped, and even though there's still a long way to go she's hanging in there.

    I like the arrive early, get a seat, and leave early approach you mentioned. I simply run out of steam the later in the day that it is.

    I hate those questions about job and house ownership. I'm glad that someone appreciated your effort to show up.

    Hello AJ. Thx for the advice, but I did follow my own advice that I usually give out and that was to arrive late and leave early. It was supposed to be a 3 hr event. On hind sight I should have arrived early, got a seat and left even earlier. However it did work out.

    Didn't help that I knew exactly two people there. However on the happy side I didn't have to answer any questions about what I did for a living or what kind of house I own (I don't own a house). My presence did make my father's partner (it was her 80th birthday party) happy as we were the only ones who showed up from Dad's side of the family. Take Care. paul m
