Canal Pursuit for Mental Health Returns This August!
Mark your calendars! The 11th annual Canal Pursuit for Mental Health takes place on Saturday, August 23, 2025, and we’re inviting YOU to take part in this powerful day of movement, and supporting mental health.
Inspired by Clay Williams’ original 785 km solo run along Ontario’s historic Trent-Severn and Rideau Canals, this year’s Canal Pursuit features 7 local events—plus a virtual option—each finishing at noon as Clay completes a 75 km run from Merrickville to Parliament Hill, carrying a flag signed by those impacted by mental illness. The flag serves as a symbol and reminder that no one has to carry their burden alone.
Locations: Peterborough, Trenton, Belleville, Kingston, Smiths Falls, Kemptville, Ottawa + Virtual
This unique, non-competitive run/walk is part of MDSC’s Defeat Depression Campaign, promoting physical activity, peer connection, and the importance of speaking up about mental illness. Your participation, sponsorship, or donation helps fund life-changing mental health programs nationwide. Support the event today!
