Feb. 8, 2024 —Mood Disorders Society of Canada (MDSC) is proud to recognize The Printing House (TPH) and participating staff for their generous donation in support of the pan-Canadian Defeat Depression mental health campaign. The Printing House matched dollar for dollar the donations made by staff members.

The campaign raises funds to provide support and resources to persons impacted by mental illness across the country. The cheque was graciously presented by Janice O’Born, representing TPH, to Dave Gallson, the National Executive Director of MDSC.

Since the inception of its Charitable Office was founded in 1985 and the Payroll Participation Program was introduced in 1999, TPH has been a pillar in community giving. This initiative fosters a culture of giving back within the organization by encouraging staff to contribute to charitable causes. Showing a strong commitment to corporate social responsibility, TPH matches each employee’s donation dollar for dollar, thereby doubling the benefits felt by the recipient organizations and magnifying the impact of its employees’ generosity.

“TPH’s vision aligns with our campaign’s core values of compassion, support, and community,” said Dave Gallson, National Executive Director of Mood Disorders Society of Canada. “Mental Illness affects 7 million Canadians and always has a significant bearing on their families. With the support of organizations like The Printing House, we can continue to work tirelessly to combat these illnesses that are impacting so many.”

“I am very proud of our staff for the support they have always given to our Payroll Participation Program since its inception. Mood Disorders Society Canada, was chosen by our staff and many supported it over the past year,” stated Janice O’Born, who along with her husband, Earle O’Born, founded the TPH Charitable Office.

This partnership exemplifies how corporate initiatives can significantly foster community well-being and spur positive changes within Canada. The Defeat Depression campaign is honored to be a part of TPH’s narrative of philanthropy, which unmistakably illustrates how collective giving can make a big impact. In light of the generous donation from TPH, the Defeat Depression campaign will be able to further enhance its resources, extend its outreach, and strengthen the resources, programs and tools available to support networks for those affected by depression and related mood disorders.
