Mood Disorders Society of Canada announces the 2023 Recipient of the Marg Starzynski Mental Health Leadership Award

The Mood Disorders Society of Canada is proud to announce Helen Baker as the 2023 recipient of the Marg Starzynski Mental Health Leadership Award. This award is presented to the individual whose dedicated leadership in community mental health awareness and through personal contributions to raising awareness of mental illness has had a positive impact on the mental health community.

“Helen Baker is a Canadian artist who uses her platform to raise awareness of mental health issues to help dispel myths and stigma. Helen uses her art as a tool to give back to the community donating proceeds of her painting sales, donating her art to various auctions for local mental health services and she openly speaks about her personal issues with depression. Helen’s goal is to inspire hope through her art and put positivity into the world.”
