For Immediate Release, September 6, 2024, Belleville, ON. Mood Disorders Society of Canada (MDSC) is pleased to announce the establishment of a new National annual Award. This is the third annual award for MDSC and it is called the ‘Dr. Barbara Everett Award for Young Researchers with Lived Experience’.
The Dr. Barbara Everett Award for Young Researchers with Lived Experience recognizes Young Researchers with Lived Experience who have demonstrated significant contributions in the field of mental health, emphasizing knowledge dissemination and innovative approaches.
Nominees should have a track record of at least two (2) years in the field, showcasing sustained and impactful contributions. Nominations should encompass a brief introduction and a summary (150 words or less) delineating the nominee’s contributions to enhancing mental health and knowledge dissemination in Canada. Furthermore, the nomination should incorporate the following details:
- A succinct biography (as an attachment),
- A delineation of how the nominee’s work significantly differs and stands out in the field
- A comprehensive current curriculum vitae of the nominee and contact information including full name, mailing address, phone number(s), and email address (as an attachment)
Nominations for all MDSCs National Awards will open Monday, September 9, 2024 and submissions will be accepted up to Tuesday, October 15, 2024. The award winners will be announced in January 2025. Look to see the Annual Announcement opening up the nomination cycle shortly.
