Bio – Jayr Sullano

Web and Digital Support Specialist

Jayr has over nine years of experience building, maintaining, and supporting WordPress and WooCommerce websites — first from Cebu City in the Philippines, and now from his current home in Waterloo, Ontario. He graduated with distinction from Conestoga College’s Web Development program, building on an earlier engineering degree from CIT University in Cebu.

At the Mood Disorders Society of Canada, Jayr quietly keeps the organization’s websites and digital tools running smoothly — from the main mdsc.ca site through to community-facing platforms across the country, in both English and French. Whether it’s improving accessibility, sharpening performance, or simply making sure the lights stay on, his goal is the same: that the technology disappears, so the support can come through.

In 2022, during his first term of studies in Canada, Jayr lived through an anxiety episode that led him to seek mental-health support in person. The care he received during that time gave him a personal understanding of how vital accessible, well-built support systems are. When the opportunity came to join MDSC, the mission resonated — making sure the digital side of mental-health support works reliably for every person reaching for it, often at the hardest moments of their day.
