Bio – Aimée Tran Ba Huy
Aimée is a recent Cognitive Science graduate from McGill University. Her academic journey spanned psychology, philosophy, neuroscience, linguistics, and computer science, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence and the philosophy of science. Her undergraduate thesis in the philosophy of psychiatry examined the historical understanding of Borderline Personality Disorder, proposing a new framework for conceptualizing the condition. Aimée lead unbiased.rx, a health AI project that explores gender bias in clinical trials and develops tools to support safer and more equitable prescribing practices.
Aimée serves as a National Project Coordinator at Mood Disorders Society of Canada, where she contributes to the Access to Medications Initiative and supports outreach coordination and resource library management for MIRA, MDSC’s AI-powered mental health navigation platform. Her work is shaped by lived experience and a background in AI for social good. With training in the philosophy of psychiatry, she is interested in how reflection, empathy, and responsible AI can support more thoughtful, equitable, and patient-centred approaches to mental health care.
Outside of work, Aimée enjoys listening to 60s and 70s records on her turntable, getting lost in a good book, and caring for her growing collection of plants. She loves unwinding over a game of pool with friends and discovering cozy cafés or vintage shops around Montreal.
