The Mood Disorders Society of Canada is proud to announce the expansion of their Award Program in 2019. Each year the Mood Disorders Society of Canada (MDSC) presents two awards – both in recognition of outstanding work and passion in the field of mental health. Commencing this year, we are accepting nominations for these prestigious awards from the Canadian public.

Nominations will be open to submissions from Canadians who have knowledge of an individual or / organization who fits the nomination criteria. The recipients will be recognized during the week of October 6 – 12, 2019, Mental Illness Awareness Week.

Nominations will be accepted for the following two awards:

1. The Marg Starzynski Mental Health Leadership Award

This award is presented to an individual whose dedicated leadership in community mental health awareness and through personal contributions to raising awareness of mental illness has had a positive impact on the mental health community. Any Canadian individual is eligible for this award.

2. The Jordan James Pickell Mental Health Achievement Recognition Award

This award is presented to an organization who has made outstanding contributions to mental health education and anti-stigma activities and that have had a positive impact on the mental health community. Specifically, by actively engaging students and staff in understanding and accepting mental illness and the importance of mental health. Any Canadian organization is eligible for this award.

Nominations will open in early May and will be accepted until the end of June. To stay up to date with MDSC, please sign up for our newsletter.
