Each year the Mood Disorders Society of Canada (MDSC) presents national awards –in recognition of outstanding work achieved in mental health. Nominations will be open to submissions for an individual or an organization who fits the nomination criteria. Nominations for awards will open Monday, August 15, 2022 and submissions will be accepted up to Monday, October 3, 2022. The award winners will be announced in the fall of 2022.

The MDSC annual awards are:

The Marg Starzynski Mental Health Leadership Award

This award is presented to an individual whose dedicated leadership in community mental health awareness and through personal contributions to raising awareness of mental illness has had a positive impact on the mental health community. Any Canadian individual is eligible for this award. Please complete the following nomination form for this award.

The Jordan James Pickell Mental Health Achievement Recognition Award

This award is presented to an organization who has made outstanding contributions to mental health education and anti-stigma activities and that have had a positive impact on the mental health community. Specifically, by actively engaging students and staff in understanding and accepting mental illness and the importance of mental health. Any Canadian organization is eligible for this award.
