Mood Disorders Society of Canada announces the 2023 Recipient of the Jordan James Pickell Award

Mood Disorders Society of Canada is proud to announce ‘Stigma-Free Society (SFS) as the 2023 recipient of the Jordan James Pickell Mental Health Achievement Recognition Award.

This award is presented to an organization who has made outstanding contributions to mental health education and anti-stigma activities that have had a positive impact on the mental health community. Specifically, by actively engaging students and staff in understanding and accepting mental illness and the importance of mental health.  Any Canadian organization is eligible for this award.

Over the past 13 years, Stigma Free Society has created and provided innovative programs and mental health resources that have fostered open conversations about mental illness and health. They offer educational tools such as toolkits, which engage not only youth, but individuals, families and communities. The organization is committed to breaking down the barriers of stigma and promoting mental health awareness and change.
