Mood Disorders Society of Canada announces the 2024 Recipient of the Jordan James Pickell Mental Health Achievement Recognition Award

Mood Disorders Society of Canada is proud to announce ‘Indigenous Youth Services’ as the 2024 recipient of the Jordan James Pickell Mental Health Achievement Recognition Award.

This award is presented to an organization who has made outstanding contributions to mental health education and anti-stigma activities and that have had a positive impact on the mental health community. Specifically, by actively engaging students and staff in understanding and accepting mental illness and the importance of mental health. Any Canadian organization is eligible for this award.

Indigenous Youth Services (IYS) has been a beacon of hope and support for Indigenous youth, providing culturally sensitive care that empowers young people to embrace their heritage while navigating the challenges they face today. Mental health awareness and support are among the many life skills that they provide to Indigenous youth.
