Mood Disorders Society of Canada announces the 2024 Recipient of the Marg Starzynski Mental Health Leadership Award
Mood Disorders Society of Canada is proud to announce Joe Roberts as the 2024 recipient of the Marg Starzynski Mental Health Leadership Award. This award is presented to the individual whose dedicated leadership in community mental health awareness and through personal contributions to raising awareness of mental illness has had a positive impact on the mental health community.
Joe Roberts is a Canadian mental health advocate and leader who uses his platform to empower others and give them hope. Joe is also known as the “Skid Row CEO” and has Lived Experience. He is a Canadian motivational speaker, author and youth homelessness and mental health advocate. In 2016, Joe pushed across Canada, a modified shopping cart (a symbol of chronic homelessness) to raise awareness of youth homelessness and the close connection it has with mental health.
