Bio – Dr. Jasmine Noble

Dr. Jasmine Noble is a National Project Director for Mood Disorders Society of Canada. This role aligns with her work as a scholar and researcher in the intersection of public health, psychiatry, and computing science. Her focus includes the development, execution, and assessment of forward-thinking public health strategies targeting the improvement of mental health and wellbeing. Dr. Noble is deeply engaged with the possibilities that emerge from scientific and technological advancements, including artificial intelligence and machine learning. These innovations hold promise for tackling mental health issues and enhancing the accessibility and navigation of mental health systems.

Previously, Dr. Noble was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Alberta, where she served in the Departments of Computing Science and Psychiatry. She has an extensive background in health research, communications, and policy, having held senior roles at the Institute of Health Economics, including positions as Senior Researcher and Director of Communications. Additionally, she served as Principal Secretary and Policy Advisor to a Federal Finance Minister and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Canada.

Dr. Noble has a PhD in Psychiatry from the University of Alberta, a Master of Public Policy from the University of Calgary, and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta.

Community Involvement:

  • Past member of the District of Saanich Healthy Saanich Advisory Committee (a Council appointed committee that advises Council on ways in which to create healthier more vibrant communities)
  • Past member of Integrated People-Centred Health Systems (IPCHS) Baseline Review Expert Panel, for the Improving Integrated Care for Youth Initiative, led by the Health Standards Organization (HSO) and supported by Health Canada
  • Member of the APEC Digital Hub for Mental Health Workplace Wellness and Resilience Working Group
  • Past Director on the Trans Canada Trail Board of Directors (National Board, 3-year term)
  • Past Canadian Red Cross Disaster Management Volunteer (was deployed nationally to help in a major flooding)
  • Past Alpha House Homeless Shelter volunteer

On a personal note, she is mom to two mischievous little girls, as well as an avid gardener and traveler.
