Bio – Krista Craig

National Sustainability Director with Mood Disorders Society of Canada

Krista has extensive experience in Business Development and Project Management in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors.  Following an education in Marketing and Business Administration at Durham College and Trent University, Krista established herself as a knowledgeable and trusted leader in Healthcare and Post-Secondary fundraising – specializing in project and program start-ups.

Always on the go – in addition to successfully establishing and operating several small businesses in the hospitality and Real Estate sectors, Krista is an avid volunteer.  With a diagnosis of Anxiety and PTSD, volunteering became an important component of maintaining her overall health.  Krista has sat on local community group Boards, travelled to Central America to participate in education and quality of life initiatives, assisted with refugee resettlement projects in her community, coached and managed several local sports teams, and fostered dozens of animals (mostly dogs) with her husband.  Together they have driven over 5000km of Freedom Drives for animal rescue since 2021.

Krista is a lifelong resident of Durham Region and lives in Port Perry with her husband, children and four rescue dogs.

In her role as National Sustainability Director with MDSC, Krista oversees the development of new, strategic funding relationships that will allow MDSC to continue making a meaningful and positive difference in the lives of those impacted by Mental Illness in Canada.
