Bio – Brandi McConkey

Event Coordinator and Program Support with Mood Disorders Society of Canada.

Brandi is a loyal and committed individual with a strong passion for community engagement. Her significant contributions to her local elementary schools, women’s groups, and MDSC highlight her commitment to driving impactful change.

Through her extensive volunteer work, as well as post-secondary diplomas in ECE, Community Support Worker, and Medical Office Administration, Brandi has cultivated a diverse skill set in time management, problem solving, and community development. Her experience in working with the public through over 20 years in retail customer service has further honed her interpersonal skills. These practical strengths, combined with Brandi’s dedication to service, have been instrumental in her success both in and out of the volunteer space.

Brandi’s journey with Mood Disorders began in 2019, first as a Social Media volunteer and soon after as Chair and Co-Chair for Kingston Defeat Depression. It was a way to get through her own depression, to help others and volunteer. She was inspired by the organization’s mission to ‘Defeat Depression’. Since then, Brandi has demonstrated her leadership and event coordination skills and helped raise over $30,000 for her local mental health services and MDSC. Through her work with the organization, she has gained invaluable firsthand experience in team leadership, event management, and coordinating with local partners. Brandi is now using this unique blend of professional expertise, educational background, and a deep commitment to service to contribute to Defeat Depression, and Mood Disorders Society of Canada as the National Events Coordinator and Program Support.

Brandi enjoys making memories with her children, 2 dogs, and cat in Southern Ontario.
