Bio – Aimée Tran Ba Huy
Aimée is a recent Cognitive Science graduate from McGill University. Her academic journey spanned psychology, philosophy, neuroscience, linguistics, and computer science, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence and the philosophy of science. Her undergraduate thesis in the philosophy of psychiatry examined the historical understanding of Borderline Personality Disorder, proposing a new framework for conceptualizing the condition. Aimée leads unbiased.rx, a health AI project that explores gender bias in clinical trials and develops tools to support safer and more equitable prescribing practices.
At the Mood Disorders Society of Canada (MDSC), Aimée serves as a National Project Specialist, contributing to the Access to Medications Initiative, leading the Insomnia Program, and coordinating volunteers for the Pathway to Benefits project. Her work is shaped by personal experience and a belief in meaningfully involving people with lived and living experience. With a background in the philosophy of psychiatry, she’s interested in how reflection and empathy can guide more thoughtful and equitable approaches to mental health care.
Outside of work, Aimée enjoys listening to 60s and 70s records on her turntable, getting lost in a good book, and caring for her growing collection of plants. She loves unwinding over a game of pool with friends and discovering cozy cafés or vintage shops around Montreal.
