Mood Disorders Society of Canada announces the 2025 Recipient of the MDSC Mental Health Leadership Award

Mood Disorders Society of Canada is proud to announce Dr. Stephen Lewis as the 2025 recipient of the MDSC Mental Health Leadership Award. This award is presented to the individual whose dedicated leadership in community mental health awareness and through personal contributions to raising awareness of mental illness has had a positive impact on the mental health community.

Dr. Stephen Lewis’s lived experience with self-injury and mental illness bridges advocacy and academia. He has for years, inspired hope and recovery. His research has focused on self-injury and related mental health challenges. Stephen is also an anti-stigma Canadian advocate.

The MDSC Board is pleased to recognize him for his outstanding leadership and focus in this area with the MDSC Mental Health Leadership Award.
